Kapsule Care Overview
Kapsule Care is hands-on website management: our engineers apply your updates, watch your site, log real support hours against your account, and publish a health report every month.
What Kapsule Care Is
Hosting keeps your site running. Care keeps it maintained. Where a hosting plan gives you the tools to update WordPress, tune performance and check on uptime yourself, a Care plan hands that work to the team that runs the platform underneath it.
Three things make it concrete rather than a vague retainer:
- Real engineer hours are attached to your plan, tracked, and shown to you as they are used.
- A visible work pipeline. Every change moves through staged, tested and deployed, and you can see each step.
- A published monthly report covering uptime, updates applied and security checks.
Care is at Store, then the Protection section, then Care. The direct address is /care. Care is not a top-level sidebar item.
The Three Plans
| Plan | Engineer hours each month | Price |

| Kapsule Care Basic | 1 | US$48.00/mo |

Support Hours and Rollover
Your plan's hours are engineer time, not a ticket allowance. Asking a question does not consume them; work does.
The important detail: unused hours roll over month to month. A quiet month is not a wasted month, which is what makes a one-hour plan viable for a site that needs three hours of work twice a year and nothing in between.
Your Care dashboard shows a coverage band per subscription with Support hours left, a usage meter, and the exact figures: 1.5 / 3 hours, 1.5 remaining. If you go over, the meter turns and the line reads 3.5 / 3, 0.5 over rather than hiding it.

Your Care Dashboard
Open /care and the page shows, in order:
- A coverage band per active subscription: plan name, status pill, start date, hours remaining, and the usage meter.
- What your plan includes: monthly reports, the visible work pipeline, real engineer hours.
- How care works: the three-step onboarding flow.
- Your monthly Care reports, once any have been published.
- Update work cycles for each active subscription.
- The plan comparison row, with your current plan marked.
If you have no Care plan yet, the top of the page reads No active Care plan and points you at the plans below.
Subscription Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending Setup | Ordered and paid, waiting on your onboarding details |
| Active | Onboarded and running |
| Cancelled | Ended |
A Pending Setup band carries a Finish setup button that takes you to the onboarding form. See Setting Up Your Care Plan.
Monthly Care Reports
Published reports appear as document cards on your Care dashboard, each headed Kapsule Care Report with the period label and the date it was published. Each card carries an overall status pill (All good, Minor issues or Needs attention) and six figures:
| Line | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Uptime | The percentage for the period, or Monitored |
| Incidents | How many occurred |
| Plugins updated | Count for the period |
| Themes updated | Count for the period |
| Security | No issues, Action taken, or Monitored |
| SSL | The certificate status |
Where the team acted on something, a security note is included underneath.
Update Work Cycles
Care does not push updates straight to your live site. Each batch of work moves through a cycle you can watch:
Queued to Staged to Tested to Deployed, with each stage stamped as it completes.
Two other outcomes are possible and both are shown honestly. Rolled back means we caught an issue and restored the previous state. Cancelled means the cycle was stopped. A cycle still sitting on Queued tells you work has not started yet.
The work cycle log is the fastest way to answer "did anything change on my site this week". It is per subscription and appears below the reports on your Care dashboard.
How It Works, Start to Finish
- Pick a plan. Subscribe from the plan row on
/care. The plan is added to your cart and you pay at checkout. Your first month of cover starts that day. - We onboard your site. Our team contacts you within one business day and schedules your first review. Fill in the onboarding form to speed this up.
- We handle it from there. Updates, monitoring, and your monthly report.
Ordering requires the care:write permission, which Owners and Admins hold. Other roles see the plan buttons locked with a note about which roles can order.
Changing or Cancelling
To change tier, use the buttons in the plan row. Your current plan is marked Current Plan and its order button is removed, so you can only move to a different one.
To cancel, use Cancel plan on the coverage band. A confirmation asks you to confirm, then the request is logged and our team confirms it within one business day.
Cancellations are processed by a person within one business day, not instantly on click. If you are cancelling to avoid a renewal, do it with time in hand rather than on the renewal date. See Cancelling a Subscription.
Care Is Not Pro Services
Care is ongoing maintenance on a monthly plan. A one-off project, a migration, a WooCommerce build, a security audit, a plugin written to your brief, is Pro Services: scoped, quoted and delivered as a single engagement.
If your Care hours are consistently short because of project work, Pro Services is usually the cheaper answer.
