Web hosting, a domain or a server: which do you need?
Most websites need two of the three. Here is what each one does.
Web hosting
The space your website lives in, with the software that serves it to every visitor, kept running for you. Every plan here has the mailboxes, the backups, the certificate and the CDN. The size is the only thing that changes.
A domain name
The address people type to find you, like yourbrand.com. You register it, keep it renewed, and point it at your hosting. Here you see what next year costs before you pay for this one, and WHOIS privacy is free on every extension that allows it.
A server
A machine of your own, with full root access, where you install and run whatever you like. It is for people who want to manage the software themselves; web hosting runs the server for you. Cloud VPS sits on the same panel and the same bill as everything else.

- Do I need a domain name as well as hosting?

- Should I choose web hosting or a Cloud VPS?
- Choose web hosting if you want a website online and looked after: the server, the certificate and the nightly copies are handled for you. - Can you move my existing site?
- Yes, on any plan. The migration tools are free on every hosting plan: they copy the files, the database and the mailboxes while your current site keeps serving, and nothing switches until you approve it. - How much traffic and storage do I get, and can I move up later?
- Each plan card shows its websites, storage, monthly traffic and mailboxes. Start on the smallest one and move up the day you outgrow it: any time, from the panel. Your site stays where it is and the new room appears.
- Is there a money-back guarantee?
- Yes. If you are a new customer and not satisfied with the Services, you may request a full refund of your first hosting Plan payment by cancelling and submitting a refund request within thirty (30) days of the date of your first paid invoice for that Plan. The guarantee applies to monthly and annual subscriptions to Start, Pro, Scale and Cloud Power. It does not apply to renewal payments, or to Customers who have previously had a KapsuleHost Account or received a refund; clause 1.3 lists every exclusion. - What uptime do you commit to?
- Our Service Level Agreement sets a Monthly Uptime target of 99.9% for every paid Plan, applying to Downtime on or after 1 October 2026. If Uptime in a calendar month falls below the target, you are entitled to a service credit on your next invoice for the affected Service: 10% of the monthly Fee below the target but at or above 99.0%, rising to 100% below 90.0%. To claim it, open a billing ticket in KPanel within thirty (30) days of the end of that month. Free Trials and GPU, dedicated and storage servers are outside the SLA, and clause 4 lists the exclusions.
